One of These Days
Bulgaria, 2005

Director: Furkov

Synopsis: The film is inspired by the story of Gabriel Garsia Markez "One of These Days". G. G. Markez is a Nobel prize winner for literature from 1982 and is worldwide famous for his work. The idea of filming this story was provoked, besides by the name of the author, by the nostalgic mood that is created from the unclosed chapter of a confrontation between characters in the past. A confrontation that evolves into a psychological conflict after a meeting, years later, in the present. We do not consider this problem to be modernistic, but a kind of a rule in life.

Furkov

I was born in the spring (22nd March 1981) in a actors’ family which played a big part in choosing my path in life. In 2000 I graduated and entered the New Bulgarian University in Sofia where I shot some shorts and started working on music videos for one of the Bulgarian new companies “Sniper Records” (I made about 12 videos). So a couple of years later I made my firs documentary “Speshna Slusha” and it was about the emergency medical care in Sofia. A year after that I started as a director on the TV show “Gospodari na Efira” on New TV. Aproximately then I and some friends founded our company called “flipperflicks”, with the idea to create short audio visual forms. This initiative started our next project “ÌÌ Short Movies” in the beginning of 2005- a series of short films on different subjects (6 per month), that are shown on MM TV. Eventually the team of “Flipperflicks” created the film “One of these days”, inspired by the story of Gabriel Garsia Markes, that is going to have it’s premiere at SFFA in Balchik 2005.
